Immaculate	Indika Pathmananda is Sri Lanka's leading young artist. He lives and works in the beautiful fishing village of Tangalla on the southern coast of the island and has won many awards in his career including the Presidential Award at the 107th and the First Prize at the 108th Ceylon Society of Arts Anniversary Art Exhibitions. Autumn	Indika paints in a wide variety of styles and media from the elegant traditional Singhalese manner, through exqusite wildlife watercolours and landscapes to energetic and exciting modern abstracts. If there is one characteristic that all Indika's work has in common it is his daring and vibrant use of colour - a product perhaps of the luminous light of southern Sri Lanka. It is perhaps also worth remarking on his instinctive and harmonious compositional sense.	Cattle

A note on the images. The images on the website were scanned from photographic prints of the original paintings. Whilst every effort has been made to capture the exact colour and tonal balance of the paintings this is a notoriously tricky business, not least because the colour rendering of different display drivers and monitors varies considerably and so there can be no guarantee that the reproductions are entirely accurate.
